I love doing school visits and writing workshops. I’ve done workshops big and small to kids of all ages (including adults if you’re into that kind of thing). I’ve taught writing at the college level but know how to keep it fun and engaging for young people. My favorite thing to do is a hands-on mystery writing workshop. I teach the elements of good fiction and we end with the first chapter of a brand new mystery novel. It’s always a ton of fun. My rates are reasonable and I don’t charge travel fees to eastern PA/western NJ.
Here is an article a student wrote about one of my visits. Below are lots of pictures! Mostly of school visits, some at bookstores or festivals, one at the Edgar Awards — you can identify that one by the tux!
